From 4th March to 12nd July 2015, the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, thanks to the collaboration with the Brucke Museum of Berlin, presents an exhibition from the origins of the German Expressionism.

“Die Brucke” (“The Bridge”) was the movement founded by Fritz Bleyl (1880-1966), Eric Heckel (1883-1970), Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938), Karl Schmidt-Rottluff (1884-1976). Their aim was to build a bridge between neo-romantic painting and a new style that it became the German Expressionism.

The exhibition consists of more than 150 works: paintings, prints and drawings. The German Expressionism will be a great occasion to discover the artistic revolution born in the ferment that led Europe to the First World War.
